Boy of the Week - Nicholas Hoult

Nicholas Hoult... swoon! You may remember him (but not recognize him) as the geeky kid from About a Boy. He's huge in the UK having starred in the much controversial Skins (I've gotta go out at buy all the seasons on DVD right away!) Now we're about to see him star in several big US blockbusters, X-Men First Class, Jack the Giant Killer, and Mad Max.

How do you get over someone who you have given your whole heart to?
You don't. Now this is assuming you really mean you've given away your whole heart. That is what we call great love. You will have many loves in your life, you will let down your guard and let people into your heart time and time again, they can bruise it, they can break it, and they can heal it. But you only have one heart, and when you do finally give it away... when you find that one person who is deserving of having your heart.. that is great love. The unfortunate thing is that when great love is rejected.. you never really get your heart back. The great love for that person who holds your heart will never go away.. great love changes you. And all you can do is hope to find the person you'll love second most in this world.

What should I buy my girlfriend on Valentine's Day?
Flowers and Candy are always good, but there has to be more. The number one most important thing about Valentine's Day gift giving (or any gift giving for that matter) is the thought behind it. The girl better believe you put LOTS of thought into the gift. I don't care if you get her a freaking pet rock that pet rock better have a name and a back story that you put lots of thought into. That's really all the help I can give on gift giving because it has to be specific to the person.

So I broke up with this girl and now she just won't leave me alone! What should I do?
Stop all contact. Don't call her, don't text her, don't facebook her, avoid her in public. If she texts you don't text her back, she calls you don't answer, she facebooks you don't respond, she corners you in public quickly find an escape. Is this mean? Yes. But unfortunately some girls just don't get the hint when you break up with them and they cling to hope. If you don't want them to cling to you.. you must destroy that hope.. and the ONLY way to do that is to be mean. Sorry if you think of yourself as the "nice guy" but in these situations the nice thing to do is to be mean and let her move on.

So, there's this boy I like, but he's a smoker and I've always said I don't date smokers.. but I really like him. What should I do?
Know your deal-breakers. Is smoking one of them? Meaning, would you marry a smoker? Not saying after the first couple dates you should be thinking about marriage. But before dating anyone you should clearly know your deal-breakers. Whether it be smoking, drugs, unemployment, location, kids, religion etc... you should know what they are. Deal-breakers shouldn't be little things, these are big life altering things. And give yourself a 3 date rule. If a guy checks off even one of your deal-breakers by the third date you shouldn't go out with him again. So, to answer your question, is smoking a deal-breaker? If so, then as much as you like him, you should not be dating him.
