#43 It only takes one person to make you feel special, and valid, and like you belong in the world... Don't let that person be anyone but yourself.

Boy of the Moment - Jamie Campbell Bower
yes yes yessssssss! It has been confirmed that Jamie Campbell Bower is reattached to The Mortal Instruments movie as Jace! So he will be our new boy of the moment. If you haven't heard of him... shame! Because I know you've seen him.. (He's one of the Harry Potter/Twilight crossover actors) And now he'll be getting a lead role in the next teen sensation book to movie series The Mortal Instruments!! And seriously I saw no one else for this role. Before the movie was even cast I was reading the books thinking... only Jamie Campbell Bower can do this role justice. And the lovely Lily Collins has already been cast as the female lead. Do yourself a favor.. pick up the book.. get obsessed. And for those of you who have read the book... here's a mock screen shot of Lily and Jamie as Clary and Jace in The Mortal Instruments (This is exactly how I pictured the markings! Thoughts?)

The NEW book!!
Yes, it's true. As many of you have heard I am finishing up my first novel! And for all my wonderful blog frequenters you get the first sneak peak at an excerpt of my new book, What If?
Her
“You look amazing,” Logan said kissing her on the cheek. “I’ll have the best looking girl at the party tonight.” She smiled and took the hand he offered and they walked down the street toward Robbie’s party. It was the perfect Seattle night; crisp cool air and not a cloud in sight. The streets downtown were still lit up with holiday lights and everyone was dressed to perfection heading to their own New Years celebration.
Tonight would be the perfect night to have “the talk.” Robbie was right, they were long overdo. They’ve done enough years of on and off again, it’s time he makes a commitment to her. Bypassing the line at the door Logan gave the bouncer a quick pat on the back and moved passed him through the door.
They entered the venue and she caught her breath. Robbie had outdone himself once again. The place was transformed from its typical modern lodge style atmosphere to a sparkling, shinning, glittering New Years Eve wonderland. They were quickly swallowed by the crowd and she leaned over to Logan.
“Let’s go find Robbie.” She said.
“You go find him. Meet me at the bar.”
“Okay,” She said, “I’ll only be a couple minutes.”
“Alright, don’t find yourself another boyfriend before you get back,” He grinned and kissed her before heading off to the bar. Boyfriend, he said boyfriend. That must mean he thinks of himself as her boyfriend. Robbie was wrong. Logan did love her, she was sure of that.
Him
“Robbie!” He heard Sky shout pushing through the typical mob of girls that surrounded him. Not one of them compared to her. Sure they were gorgeous, smart, talented funny, just about every guys dream; but any time he spent with them, or any other girl for that matter, just ended up making him think of Sky, and how much he’d rather be with her. As she walked toward him he had to really concentrate to keep his jaw off the floor, she was stunning tonight. Sure she always looked gorgeous, incredibly trendy always styled to perfection. But tonight, in her short sequined dress, she looked downright sexy. Luckily he would have her all to himself tonight, so he wouldn't have worry too much about trying to keep his hands off her.
She threw her arms around him in a hug as soon as she made it through the mob.
“The place looks amazing,” She said.
“Even better now that my disco ball showed up,” he said gesturing at her dress.
“What? You don’t like it?” She accused him, stepping back and striking a pose to show it off.
“Well… it could be a little shorter,” he teased.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t feel like fitting in with the rest of your slut girls tonight,” she teased back. They laughed and hugged again.
“But seriously,” he said, “I’m going to have to fight the boys off you all night.”
“Oh don’t worry about that. I have protection, Logan’s here.” He felt like he had just been hit in the chest with a sledge hammer.
“I thought that was over?” He asked.
“Well I did think a lot about what you said, and you’re right we need to have the talk. I plan on doing that tonight.” He didn’t even try to hide the concerned look on his face.
“Sky…” he said.
“Robbie, don’t start I know what you’re going to say. But you’re wrong. He called me his girlfriend tonight!”
“He did?” Robbie asked genuinely surprised.
“Well, sort of,” Sky said. “He implied it, but I knew what he meant.”
“Sky, please stop assuming he has good intentions. He doesn’t.” Robbie said. He knew that sounded harsh and probably came across mean, but when was she going to get it through her head, Logan was just stringing her along so he’d always have someone to come home to. When was she going to get it through her head that I love her, he thought to himself.
“You’re wrong!” She shouted and stalked off in the direction of the bar. Robbie sighed and turned back to his adoring fans.
“Who wants to dance!” he said looking back over his shoulder one last time at Sky.
Her
She spent the next half hour searching for Logan. He wasn’t at the bar, not in line for the bathrooms, or chatting up his other friends there. She finally found him out on the dance floor with some of Robbie’s slut girl rejects. He looked up and saw her notice him from across the room.
“Hey, Sky,” he said abandoning the dancing whores and walking over to her, “I was wondering where you went.”
“Well here I am,” she said rudely crossing her arms.
“Hey, don’t be like that,” he said, “I was just killing time waiting for you.” She sighed, he was right, she really shouldn’t be overreacting.
“Let’s go sit at the bar for a bit, there’s something I want to talk to you about.”
Was he going to initiate “the talk?” Was this finally going to happen? She smiled as he took her hand and walked her over to the bar.
“Listen,” he said tucking her hair behind her ear. “You know how I feel about you.” Did she? She wasn’t sure but didn’t say anything to interrupt. “So I want you to hear it from me first, my job wants me to relocate to New York.”
“What do you mean?” she said. Not that she was confused about what he said, but she was confused about what that meant for them. He took her hand.
“We are really great together, Sky. But now I’m going to be spending the majority of my time in New York, and as much as I want to be with you, I can’t ask you to give up your life to come with me.”
“Yes, you can,” She said tears beginning to sting her eyes.
“No, Sky, I care about you to much to do that.”
“But… I love you, and I don’t want to be with anyone else. I… I can’t say goodbye to you,” She was furiously holding back tears. This was too sudden, there was so much more she wanted to say, so much more she wanted him to say. She truly couldn’t imagine being with anyone else, loving anyone else. How could he sound so casual about this? Had he not even considered her in his decision? And, why was he telling her this now? On New Years! This was supposed to be a magical night for them! Her mood changed quickly from sad to angry.
“I haven’t really put thought into you being with anyone else while I’m gone,” Logan said. “And I don’t want to say goodbye to you either, I will be back here on occasion for work and we can pick this up then.”
“Wait, what?” She said yanking her hand away. “So… so you don’t want me to go with you, but you want me to wait for you, just be here for you when you get back?” Was Robbie right after all? Had Logan been stringing her along this whole time?
“Sky,” Logan reached for her hand again but she crossed her arms. “You know that’s not how I meant it, you’re overreacting.” And with that she stormed off.
Irritated, she headed for the rooftop deciding she needed some air. It was quiet outside, the pounding bass of the music only a dull hum beneath her feet. The outdoor heaters were on and twinkle lights were hanging everywhere. There were chairs and benches set up near each heater perfect for a couple to escape the noise and cozy up together. She took in a deep breath of cool air and looked around.
“Robbie?” She said spotting him sitting on a bench overlooking the city. She walked over and sat down next to him. “What are you doing out here?”
“Just needed some air,” he said, leaning back and putting his arm around her. She leaned into him and he pulled her close.
“Yeah, I know the feeling,” she said sighing. Robbie didn’t respond, they just sat in silence together and watched the city. That’s what she loved about Robbie, he knew when to push her, when to offer advice, when to be fun, when to be serious, when to make her laugh, when to make her cry, and when to just be there, not saying anything. She looked up at him and he wiped away a tear she hadn’t realized escaped.
They sat in silence for quite a while before the booming sound of music made them look back to see who had opened the rooftop door.
“Logan!” she said sitting up quickly. Robbie tightened his arm around her protectively.
“Sky!” Logan shouted stumbling across the rooftop, “I’ve been looking for you.”
“You have?” She said standing up and closing the distance between them. He put his hands on her shoulders not in a loving gesture she quickly realized; he was using her to steady himself. He was drunk.
“You have it all wrong,” He said attempting to look her in the eye. “I think I love you and yeah it sucks that I’m leaving, but it’s not like if we do anything that it means anything against the other person. Like, I’ll still feel the same way about you regardless. So like, I know you say that you don’t want to be with anyone else, but if you need to, and I’m not around feel free to like, fill your physical desires.”
“Are you kidding me right now?” Sky pulled back again. “So you’re giving me permission to hook up while you’re away and then when you’re back I’ll drop all that and we’ll be together?”
“I’m saying that if one of us does that, it won’t take away from what we have.” He said reaching for her again.
“So, you want me to give you permission to hook up!” She said furiously.
“No… well, I’m just saying you don’t have to wait around for me.” He said looking genuinely confused as to why she was getting so angry.
“Don’t worry. I won’t.”
Him
Robbie watched Sky storm off into the club. He wanted to chase after her but felt he should probably get drunken Logan in a cab and back home first.
“I don’t understand it man,” Logan said to him as he helped him out of the club. “Girls are crazy, like, I have fun with Sky, she’s amazing. Well you know that, obviously. But she’s got to know I’m just not ready for that kind of a commitment that she wants. I like having fun.”
“You like other girls and knowing Sky will be there when you don’t have anyone else.” Robbie said to him.
“Well yeah, I mean like who doesn’t want that one loyal girl. Look at you; you’ve got like thirty of them!” They were out on the street corner now and Robbie shoved Logan off of him.
“What the hell man!” Logan shouted stumbling backward and grabbing onto a tree to steady himself.
“What is wrong with you? Yeah, I have a ton of girls around me but none of them want anything from me but a seat in my VIP lounge and a couple free drinks. Don’t compare Sky to that, she is not like them, not even close. So stop treating her like that. Sky wants a commitment from you. She deserves that. She deserves so much more and so much better than you. Please, stop stringing her along. Tell her the truth; that you have no intention of ever committing to her. Let her go… please, get out of her life.” He knew he was begging now.
“You sound like you’re in love with her,” Logan said.
“I’ve been in love with her since high school,” Robbie said throwing up his hands in frustration, “All I need now is for you to move away so she will see it. And oh wait… looks like I’m getting my wish.” He crossed his arms and smirked at Logan.
“You think just because I move away she’s going to forget about me? And be with you? I’m sorry man, but you were friend zoned years ago. And you can bet I’ll make sure I come around enough to keep her interested. Who knows, I may someday decide that she’s the one. Probably not, but until that happens, I’m going to keep her around.” Logan patted Robbie on the shoulder and hopped in the waiting cab.
Logan was wrong. Robbie knew that if Sky could ever get her mind off Logan she would see what he saw; that they are perfect for each other. But with Logan deciding to hold onto her forever the likelihood of that happening was slim to none. He should probably be the one to let go of Sky; to move on. He sighed and turned around to find Sky standing in the doorway, her arms crossed.
“What did he have to say for himself?” She asked him. Normally Robbie would try and sugarcoat this kind of thing but tonight he was too tired, too frustrated, and too annoyed.
“He basically admitted to stringing you along and planning to continue to do just that. He doesn’t want a commitment and he compared you to one of my Slut girls.” She glared at him and for a second he thought she would call him a liar.
“What did you say?” She asked him.
“I told him you are better than that, and deserve better. I told him he should tell you the truth and stop stringing you along. I told him to get out of your life.” Robbie was prepared for her to slap him, but to his surprise she threw her arms around his neck.
“Thank you,” She whispered in his ear.
“You know I’d do anything for you,” Everything he did was for her. “What now?” He asked.
“Walk me home?” She said grabbing his hand.
“Your home or mine?” He teased winking at her. She laughed but then paused and sighed.
“How about yours tonight?” she said. “I don’t feel like being alone.” As they walked down the street hand in hand he heard the New Years countdown begin from the open doors of his club. His party had been a success, Logan was moving away, and he was going home with the girl he loved, he couldn’t think of any better way to end the year.

Boys are always texting me sappy things about the girls they love. I figure you all deserve to know that most boys do have a little Nicholas Sparks in them.

Boy of the Moment - Diego Boneta
Okay so if you haven't seen the musical Rock of Ages you are SERIOUSLY missing out. But lucky for you Adam Shankman (who also brought you Hairspray and the Step Up movies) will be bringing Rock of Ages to the big screen! Ahhhhh! and while I am devastatingly sad Constantine won't be reprising his role as Drew from the stage version.. I am thrilled Diego Boneta will be introduced to the world as the amazing singer he is! (previously you've only seen his work in the new 90210 and Pretty Little Liars) So get ready! Diego Boneta is about to be the next big thing!
